We understand that you may want to delete your Clique Social account. This page explains how to request account deletion and what happens to your data.
How to Delete Your Account
You have two options to delete your Clique Social account:
Method 1: Delete Within the App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the Clique Social app:
⚠️ Security Note: For your security, you may need to log out and log back in before deleting your account if you haven't logged in recently.
Method 2: Request Deletion via Email
If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email, you can contact us directly:
Email Account Deletion RequestPlease include the following information in your email:
- The email address associated with your Clique Social account
- Your user ID (if you know it)
- Any additional information that can help us identify your account
We will process your deletion request within 7 business days and send you a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your Clique Social account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Profile Information: Your username, personality type, preferences, profile questions and answers
- Account Credentials: Your email address and authentication information
- Location Data: All stored location information
- Your Deck: Your saved connections and deck entries
- Messages: All messages you sent to other users (from your account)
- Swipe History: Your like/dislike history and interactions
- Device Data: Push notification tokens and device information
- Settings & Preferences: All app settings and customizations
What May Be Retained
Some data may be retained for technical, legal, or operational reasons:
Audio Verses (Studio Content)
Audio verses you created with other users may remain visible to those users even after your account is deleted. This is because verses are collaborative content that belongs to both creators.
If you want specific verses deleted, please mention them in your deletion request.
Messages to Other Users
Messages you sent to other users will be removed from your account, but recipients may still see the message history in their chat view.
Backup & Log Data
Some data may be retained in system backups and logs for up to 90 days after deletion for technical recovery and legal compliance purposes. After 90 days, all backup data is permanently erased.
Legal & Safety Data
If your account was involved in safety violations, reports, or legal matters, we may retain limited data (user ID, violation records) as required by law or to maintain community safety.
⚠️ Important: Deletion is Permanent
Account deletion is irreversible. Once your account is deleted:
- You will lose access to all your data, connections, and content
- Your username may become available for others to use
- You cannot recover your account or data
- If you want to use Clique Social again, you'll need to create a new account
Data Deletion Timeline
Here's what happens after you delete your account:
- Immediately: Your account is deactivated and profile becomes invisible to other users
- Within 24 hours: Your personal data is removed from our active databases
- Within 7 days: Email deletion requests are processed and confirmed
- Within 90 days: All backup copies are permanently erased
Alternative: Temporary Break
If you're not sure about permanent deletion, consider these alternatives:
- Log out: Simply log out of the app without deleting your account. Your data will be preserved and you can log back in anytime.
- Disable notifications: Turn off notifications in your device settings to take a break without losing your account.
- Clear your deck: Remove connections without deleting your entire account.
After Deletion
Once your account is deleted:
- You'll be logged out of all devices
- You'll receive a confirmation email (if deletion was requested via email)
- You can create a new account using the same email address after deletion is complete
